National Library awarded the CBCA Laurie Copping Award

Published on 16 Aug 2024

We are honoured to have received the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Laurie Copping Award for Distinguished Services to Children's Literature in the ACT.

One aspect of these services is the work of NLA Publishing to create beautiful and informative children’s books in collaboration with Australian authors and illustrators, providing them with professional assistance, encouragement and recognition.

The Library has also hosted special events and exhibitions that raised the value of Australian children’s literature to the broader community, and each year for decades now we open up our theatre to the CBCA for the national announcement of the Children’s Book of the Year Awards.

Presented by the CBCA earlier today, it is very special that we have received this award, only given once every two years. We look forward to further contributing to the growth and impact of children’s literature in the ACT and beyond.
