Congratulations to former Assistant Director-General Margaret Burn
Each year on 26 January, dozens of Australians are recognised for their work and contribution. During her time at the Library, as well as other institutions around Australia, Margy made a huge contribution to library and information science through the building of Australian collections. She continues to work on building the Library’s collection, particularly the personal archives of significant Australian women.
We’re delighted to see Margy recognised for her decades of service to the preservation of Australian stories, and offer her a very well-deserved congratulations.
Other honourees with connections to the Library include:
- Engineer and inventor Professor Veena Sahajwalla, our 2024 Ann Moyal Lecture speaker
- Cobble Cobble woman, human rights lawyer and co-chair of the Uluru Statement from the Heart Professor Megan Davis, our 2022 Kenneth Myer Lecture speaker
- Human rights lawyer Professor Gillian Triggs, one of the latest additions to our Trailblazing Women Lawyers Digital Classroom module
