The Top Western Islands comprise Boigu, Dauan and Saibai Islands.

The Central Islands comprise Masig, Poruma, Warraber and Yam Islands.

The Eastern Islands cluster comprises Darnley Island (Erub), the Murray Island Group (Mer, Dauar, Waier) and Stephen Island (Ugar).
