Curator talk at Mount Stromlo Public Astronomy Night
Come and see the rings of Saturn, the craters of the moon, as well as beautiful star clusters and nebulae. Take a ‘tour of the universe’ with a presentation from the Library's Lilia Walsh about astronomy and observations on several telescopes.
This event takes place at Mount Stromlo Observatory Canberra, 233 Mount Stromlo Road, Weston Creek. Complimentary warm drinks will be served by a coffee cart.
While the whole evening runs from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, Lilia's presentation is scheduled for 7:15pm to 7:35pm.

About the Mount Stromlo Public Astronomy Nights
Mount Stromlo is a dark site, so bringing a torch is recommended. It can also be very cold, so please dress warmly. Object visibility will vary depending on the night. Follow the guidance of traffic marshals who will direct you to parking. The road is single lane in places, so please exercise patience and caution in particular for pedestrians.
Lilia Walsh
Lilia Walsh's presentation will be projected onto the large 74-inch telescope dome. Stargazing will also run continuously from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

Lilia Walsh is part of the Curatorial and Collection Research team at the National Library of Australia. She is also a science communicator with an interest in the history of science and technology and science in popular culture.
This event is presented in partnership with the Australian National University and Canberra Astronomical Society.
