The Dutch Golden Age in six paintings

ArtsNational Canberra and Mariska Beekenkamp-Wladimiroff present a lecture focusing on the Dutch Golden Age, using six paintings to explore the art, cities, landscapes and society of 17th century Netherlands.

The 17th century in the Netherlands, also known as the Dutch Golden Age was the era of artists Rembrandt and Vermeer. It was a time of extraordinary riches and creativity.

Mariska highlights how many paintings were produced in only one hundred years and why works from this period can always be found in museums across the globe.

Light refreshments are available in the foyer after the presentation.
