National Library welcomes two Council appointments
The National Library of Australia in Canberra has welcomed the appointment of Professor Sarah Holland-Batt and the reappointment of Dr Shane Simpson AM to the Library’s Council, both for three-year terms.
Professor Holland-Batt is a prize-winning poet, literary judge and editor, and is presently Professor of Creative Writing and Literary Studies at Queensland University of Technology. Over her career, she has been the recipient of significant fellowships and residencies, and her books have been recognised with several major literary awards.
Dr Simpson has been a member of the Council for six years and has more than 30 years' experience in the arts and law, specialising in intellectual property. Dr Simpson was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his service to the law and arts in 2011.
