If you’re planning to film at the National Library of Australia — including any indoor or outdoor areas — please complete the form below to request permission.

We carefully manage all filming requests to ensure the safety of everyone on site and to protect our heritage-listed building.

Important Information

Submitting this form is an application only:

  • Confirmation of receipt does not guarantee a reservation, filming permit, or location/licensing agreement.

Accuracy matters:

  • If the information provided is inaccurate, we reserve the right to cancel filming approval at any time.

Response time:

  • We will respond within 3–5 business days.
  • Please submit your request at least 5 business days before your intended filming date.
  • A lead time of 15 business days (3 weeks) is strongly recommended to help us accommodate your request.
