The Friends annual 'White Gloves' event offers a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with highlights from the National Library's Collection.

Harold White Fellowship (1986 to 2014)

The Fellowships aimed to promote the Library as a centre of scholarly activity and research, and encourage the use and promotion of the Library's rich and varied collections. It supported 150 researchers until 2014 when it was replaced by the Fellowships and Scholarships program.

Charles Collection

Small collection of books, pamphlets, catalogues and serials on angling ranging from the 17th to the 20th century collected by Gilbert Charles.

Coffin Collection

Featuring over 4,700 photographs of ancient art and architecture across Southeast Asia is the Coffin Collection. Captured between 1955 and 1972 by Yves Coffin, this collection highlights Khmer monuments at Angkor, Cham sculptures, and Thai temples, alongside the art of Java and Bali. A valuable visual record of Southeast Asia's rich cultural heritage.

Yetts Collection

715 Chinese and Japanese books. Most date from the period 1911-1940, but there are some much earlier works. The main subject areas are Chinese art, epigraphy, archaeology and early history of the Chinese script. Other subjects include classical writings, Buddhism and Taoism, myths and legends.
