Trained volunteers and their accredited dogs created a nurturing environment where children could enjoy a range of stories in a relaxed environment. This unique program aims to make reading fun, helping children enjoy books and to become confident, lifelong readers.

Young people aged 7 to 12 were invited to enjoy stories and pats as they sat with a friendly reader and attentive dogs, just outside our Bookshop in the Foyer.  

Very small children (under 7) could listen to the stories and pat the dogs with parental supervision.

This event will repeat on the last Sunday of every month for the remainder of the year, and you're welcome to book ahead. Several dogs will be onsite for each session, however places are limited, and bookings are preferred.
