The National Library of Australia is committed to providing a safe and peaceful environment for research, study and learning. This code outlines the conduct we expect from readers and visitors. 

Our aim is to ensure Australians have access to a national collection of library material to enhance learning, knowledge creation, enjoyment and understanding of Australian life and society.

The purpose of this agency plan is to show what information the Library proposes to publish under the IPS, how and to whom the information will be published, and how the Library will otherwise comply with IPS requirements.

The personal information which we collect and hold about you will only be used for the purpose of ensuring the safety of the building, the collection and its occupants.

This policy aims to provide a statement of the Library’s current approach to digitisation. It covers all digitisation activities undertaken by Library staff as well as external providers under contract to the Library.

The National Library of Australia is included in the Commonwealth Heritage List.
