The National Library of Australia notes the recent passing of Dr Patricia Clarke – writer, historian, editor and trailblazing journalist.

Heartfelt condolences are extended to her family on behalf of the Director General and staff from the National Library of Australia.

Around 6,000 books, mostly in Portuguese, mostly relating to literature, history and religion among many other topics.

The Library does not provide a valuation service for any type of item, nor can we provide valuation details for items held in the Library's collections.

This Collection contains around 150 Chinese books, including some very rare works. They cover a range of subjects such as Chinese history, literature, society, classics, philosophy and religion.

Around 500 titles by minor and obscure British poets of the 19th century, most having been published during the reign of Queen Victoria – some earlier imprints extending back to 1801.
