The Library congratulates long-time contributor to the Library’s oral history projects Barry York for completing his 500th interview.

The National Library's collections range in date from the eleventh century to the present, take in every country in the world and are exceptionally broad in format and subject.

Personal papers and about 600 books and pamphlets from 1900-1960 on international relations, political biography, migration and more with a focus on the Commonwealth and United States. 

Photocopies of 18 unpublished Australian plays by writers such as David Ireland and Dymphna Cusack. 

Distinguished Australian photographer William Yang joined us for a special evening at the Library.

Professor Robin Gerster presented a lecture on his research into the life of historian Harold S. Williams and Williams' historical research in Japan.

The Fellowships aimed to promote the Library as a centre of scholarly activity and research, and encourage the use and promotion of the Library's rich and varied collections. It supported 150 researchers until 2014 when it was replaced by the Fellowships and Scholarships program.

NLA Fellow Dr Alice Garner recently dove into the oral history collection to explore the remarkable life and legacy of Mavis Robertson AM.
