Contracts
The Library publishes a list of contracts that are valued at $100,000 (GST inclusive) or more and were entered into in the previous 12 months, or were not completed at the end of the period. We do this to meet our obligations under Senate Order No 13 (Entity Contracts).
The lists are tabled twice a year:
- in January-February, and
- in July-August.
The list includes the contract title, contractor, the value of the contract, the start date, the anticipated end date, the subject of each contract, as well as whether the contracts include agreements to keep something confidential.

Senate Order for entity contracts listing relating to the period 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024
Pursuant to the Senate Order for entity contracts the following document sets out contracts entered into by the National Library of Australia which provide for a consideration to the value of $100,000 or more (GST inclusive) and which:
- have not been fully performed as at 1 July 2024, or
- have been entered into during the 12 months prior to 30 June 2024.
Most of the contracts listed contain confidentiality provisions of a general nature that are designed to protect the confidential information of the parties that may be obtained or generated in carrying out the contract.
The reasons for including such confidentiality clauses include:
- ordinary commercial prudence that requires protection of trade secrets, proprietary information and the like; and
- protection of other Commonwealth material and personal information.
The entity head of the National Library of Australia has assured that the listed contracts do not contain any inappropriate confidentiality provisions.
Estimated cost of complying with this Order: $1,171.78
