The Library’s Collection Development Policy defines the scope and nature of its collecting of Australian and overseas materials.

The aim of this policy is to provide a clear framework to effectively manage the deaccessioning and disposal of collection material and the disposal of material not selected for the collection.

This policy is intended to help inform decision making about the way in which Library collections are exposed to light through exhibitions.

This policy provides a framework aligned with corporate strategic priorities, for all programs of work that preserve and, through preservation, facilitate access to the collections held by the Library.
