The National Library of Australia (Library) currently stores part of the Asian Collection monograph, serials and pamphlet run (Collection Material) at the National Archives of Australia (NAA), Sandford Street, Mitchell ACT. The majority of this Collection Material is bound hardcopy monographs (books) and Journals/Serials in plastic slip cases and runs across approximately 8.2 linear kilometres of shelving.

The Library is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced supplier to undertake the relocation of approximately 8.2 linear kilometres of collection material. The relocation involves the movement of collection material from the National Archives of Australia (NAA) offsite storage facility located at Level 1, Corner Sandford Street and Flemington Road, Mitchell ACT, to the Level 3 Asian Collection Stack within the main Library building at Parkes ACT.

The successful Tenderer will also be required to undertake additional associated services as part of the relocation works. This includes the re-establishment of shelving within affected bays that have previously been altered from their original configurations. Shelving is to be reinstated to original operational standards, with standard shelving configurations generally consisting of eight shelves per bay. Shelf spacing and positioning must align consistently with adjoining and existing storage bays. The reinstatement works involve approximately 5,200 individual shelves measuring 900mm x 400mm. The successful Tenderer must provide a proposed shelf reinstatement methodology outlining the approach to shelf placement, spacing consistency, quality assurance and operational alignment requirements.
